What are the Benefits of ThES?
ThES is designed to be a cost-effective, home-based program to increase
muscle growth and strength. Since the treatment takes place at night,
when the child is sleeping, ThES does not interfere with the child's or
the parents' busy schedule. Clinical studies confirm that muscle growth and
strength can be improved and spasticity may decrease with the use of ThES.
In children with mild motor impairment, improvements were observed in balance
and ambulation skills. Children with moderate impairment demonstrated
improvement in ambulation including decreased dependence on assistive devices
such as walkers and crutches. The more severely affected children showed
improvements in posture and balance for independent sitting, improved arm and
hand function and improved vocal skills due to increased trunk control.
NOTE: ThES is intended to be used as an adjunct to the current treatment or
therapy the child receives. It is not a substitute for any therapy or surgical
procedure that may be necessary for your child's overall improvement and development. |
